Privacy Policy
FastWalk Diet ("we", "us") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information the FastWalk Diet mobile app collects, how it is used, and the choices you have. By using FastWalk Diet you agree to the practices described here.
1. Information we collect
Profile data (on your device): Your name, age, height, weight, target weight, body type, goal, activity level, units preference, and daily step goal. This data is stored only on your device in standard iOS preferences and is not transmitted to us.
Health data (Apple Health): With your permission, we read your step count, walking distance, and active energy from Apple Health to show you progress. We do not write to Apple Health unless you explicitly ask us to log a walk. Apple Health data stays on your device and in Apple Health; it is never transmitted to our servers.
Purchase data: When you subscribe to Premium, Apple handles the purchase. Subscription status is validated through RevenueCat, which assigns a random anonymous identifier to your device so entitlements can be restored across reinstalls. We do not receive your name, email, Apple ID, or payment details.
Account data (optional sign-in): Signing in is optional. If you do not sign in, the app creates an anonymous identifier locally so your plan can sync via Firebase across devices you own. If you choose to sign in with Apple, we receive the random Apple-relay email and your given name (only if you elect to share it) as returned by Sign in with Apple. If you choose to sign up with email and password, we receive your email address. We do not receive the password itself — authentication is handled by Firebase Authentication. We use this information only to identify your account and link your profile across your devices; we do not email you marketing.
Cloud sync (Firebase Firestore): When you are signed in, we store a single document containing your FastWalk Diet profile (age, body type, goal, activity level, daily step goal, calorie target, units, onboarding flag) and your current 7-day challenge progress in Firebase Firestore, scoped to your account identifier. Firestore security rules ensure only you can read or write this document. Your Apple Health data is never uploaded to Firestore or any of our servers. You can delete this cloud-stored data at any time via Profile → Delete my data.
Usage and diagnostics: We do not collect analytics or crash reports beyond those Apple automatically provides to developers if you opt in under Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements. Firebase Analytics is explicitly disabled in our build.
2. How we use information
- Personalize your plan (calorie target, step goal, weekly chart)
- Show accurate subscription status and restore previous purchases
- Provide general wellness tips relevant to your chosen goal
3. What we do NOT do
- We do not sell your data.
- We do not use your data for advertising or tracking.
- We do not share your health data with any third party.
- We do not require you to create an account or submit personally identifying information.
4. Data sharing
We use the following third-party services. Each receives only the minimum data needed to do its job:
- Apple (App Store / StoreKit): processes your subscription payment and delivers the receipt to your device. See Apple's Privacy Policy.
- RevenueCat: validates subscription receipts so Premium features unlock correctly. Receives an anonymous RevenueCat-generated identifier only — no name, email, or device ID. See RevenueCat's Privacy Policy.
- Anthropic (Claude API) — optional, off by default: if you choose to enable the personalized daily meal plan by pasting your own Claude API key into the app, your profile preferences (age, goal, activity level, daily calorie target, unit preference) are sent to Anthropic to generate that day's meal suggestions. No name, health data, location, or payment information is transmitted. This path is fully opt-in — with no key, the app uses an on-device meal plan and no data leaves your phone. - xAI (Imagine image API): the names of the meals on your daily plan (e.g. "Oats with banana + almond butter") are sent to xAI to generate illustrative food photographs for each recipe. No personal information, health data, or profile details are transmitted — only the dish name. See xAI's Privacy Policy.
- Google Firebase (Authentication & Firestore): if you sign in, Firebase Authentication handles credential verification and issues the account identifier that scopes your data, and Firebase Firestore stores the single user document described above. Firebase receives your email address (when you sign up with email), your Sign-in-with-Apple relay email and given name (only if you share it), your FastWalk Diet profile, and your challenge progress. Firebase Analytics is disabled in our build. Data is processed on Google Cloud infrastructure. See Firebase's Privacy and Security page.
5. Your rights and choices
Revoke Apple Health access: at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Health → FastWalk Diet.
Reset your profile: open the Profile tab in the app and tap "Reset profile". This deletes your local profile data.
Delete your data entirely: open the Profile tab and tap Delete my data. This removes your local profile, challenge progress, cached meal plan, and stored API keys from this device; deletes your Firestore document; and deletes your Firebase Authentication account if you are signed in. Uninstalling the app removes all local data but does not by itself remove any cloud data — use Delete my data first. To unlink your anonymous subscription identifier at RevenueCat, contact us at support@fastwalkdiet.app.
Manage or cancel subscriptions: in Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions.
6. Children
FastWalk Diet is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has used FastWalk Diet, contact us and we will assist in removing any identifiers.
7. International users
If you use the app from outside the United States, you understand that limited data (subscription identifiers, and if you sign in, your account identifier, email address, and synced profile) may be processed in the United States by RevenueCat, Google Cloud (Firebase), and Apple in the regions they operate.
8. Security
Your profile is stored using standard iOS UserDefaults storage protected by device encryption. Communication with RevenueCat uses HTTPS with certificate pinning provided by their SDK.
9. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date above. Material changes will be communicated via the app or the website.
